My interactions with Neel Panthi at Oriental Rug Of Houston have been so professional, thoughtful and helpful.
We needed to replace a beautiful, cherished 100-year old Chinese Nicols carpet that was showing too much wear. Searching online, we found what appeared to be a perfect vintage Chinese art deco carpet to take its place offered by Oriental Rug of Houston. I called to inquire further. There wasn’t a recording to “please hold. All of our operators are on other lines helping other customers.” Rather, Neel Panthi, the owner, took the call. He answered all Of my questions, looked at the photos of our rug for comparison and gave me the assurances I needed to make the purchase. Then he followed up, arranging to make a small repair on the rug before sending it out to arrive within the window we needed. He also followed up on delivery day. He further arranged for his rug restorer to assess our antique rug for potential repairs.
Dealing with online vendors is always a crap shoot. Yet, you can generally tell if the vendor is simply buying and selling so many widgets or is knowledgeable and passionate about his or her product. Neel is definitely the latter. The company has been in his family for many years and he knows his rugs. It has been an absolutely pleasure to deal with Neel and Oriental Rug of Houston.
