Drawing inspiration from historic Peshawar weaving traditions, this hand-knotted transitional rug showcases graceful arabesque vinery, palmettes, and scrolling acanthus motifs. Master artisans tie premium pure wool over a strong cotton structure, where soft ivory, beige, gray, and teal tones interweave to build a rich, low-profile pile engineered for longevity. Its open, borderless visual field lends an expansive, classical elegance to refined interiors.
*Note: This rug was photographed under studio lighting, which means the colors on screen may appear a little more vibrant than they do in person. We'd recommend watching the video below for a truer sense of the palette.

Story Behind the Art: Hand-knotted rugs are Pakistan's second-largest cottage and small industry that began as early as the 11th century under the Mughal rule. The craftsmen have the capacity to produce any type of rug using all the popular motifs of guls, medallions, paisleys (botehs), traceries, and geometric designs in various combinations. While the "stone washes" are used to fade and soften colors, the Peshawar style is characterized by a thinly sheered pile, large print designs, and most predominantly, their antique ivory and sometimes golden tones.
