Hand knotted in the Oushak tradition, this piece lays a borderless damask of acanthus scrolls and drooping palmettes across a soft beige ground in taupe, tan and cool gray. The whole design runs edge to edge and the pattern reads like faded silk brocade instead of a formal carpet. The rug's low cut pile catches light unevenly, so the field shifts from pale sand to shadowed gray depending on where you stand.
