This is not a rug...it is a work of art... an authentic artifact...beauty most sublime... where our passion, hope and ambition come together to appreciate what the artisans of yore have wrought with wool and organic vegetable dyes. Lilihan rugs originate in west Persia, and are celebrated for their intricately woven designs, vibrant colors, and high-quality wool. This natural wool adds not only years to the rug, but also provides dirt-repellent qualities and thermal insulation. The design seems on pointe with elegant arabesques and curvilinear floral motifs against the burnt orange inner field, complemented by a handsome border. The overall effect is one of precision, an art form come alive when technique, craftsmanship and design intersect.

Story Behind the Art:
Produced south of the city of Arak by Armenians in Persia, Lilihan rugs are known for their design. Traditionally designed with a curvilinear lattice with traditional floral motifs, these rugs also feature geometric designs. The Lilihan rugs are woven using the sturdy Hamedan (single weft) weave and using a symmetrical Turkish Knot which makes it tightly flatwoven and extremely durable. With their soft surface, distinctive colors and exceptional craftsmanship, Lilihan rugs are veritable works of art.
