Steeped in the rich weaving traditions of Northern Pakistan, this hand-knotted Peshawar rug offers an exquisite balance of heritage and style. Artisans have meticulously tied high-grade wool to create sprawling floral vine scrolls, rendering crisp ivory and aqua blossoms against a striking denim blue field. The rug’s soft abrash instantly ground your decor with cozy, lived-in elegance, making any seating or dining area. Best of all, its resilient pure wool pile stands up effortlessly to pets and daily foot traffic.
*Note: This rug was photographed under studio lighting, which means the colors on screen may appear a little more vibrant than they do in person. We'd recommend watching the video below for a truer sense of the palette.

Story Behind the Art: Hand-knotted rugs are Pakistan's second-largest cottage and small industry that began as early as the 11th century under the Mughal rule. The craftsmen have the capacity to produce any type of rug using all the popular motifs of guls, medallions, paisleys (botehs), traceries, and geometric designs in various combinations. While the "stone washes" are used to fade and soften colors, the Peshawar style is characterized by a thinly sheered pile, large print designs, and most predominantly, their antique ivory and sometimes golden tones.
