Infuse your home with European regal grandeur and the lavish elegance of an estate heirloom. Hand-knotted with an exceptional fine density (200 KPSI) using ultra-soft New Zealand wool blended with high-sheen silk highlights, this monumental 10'6" x 16' mansion-sized piece embodies classical French Aubusson aesthetics. A warm, glowing tan and gold canvas is adorned with ornate acanthus scrolls, delicate floral garlands, and a grand central oval medallion bursting with romantic shades of rose, sage green, soft crimson, and subtle earth tones. The premium New Zealand wool delivers unrivaled durability and plushness, while the silk elements cast a brilliant, light-catching sheen across the intricate scrollwork. Designed to anchor grand ballrooms, expansive living areas, or majestic dining spaces, this palace-scale masterpiece brings opulent historic charm and supreme comfort underfoot. Note: The color of your rug may appear slightly different in person than it does on screen. This happens because device displays tend to oversaturate color, and because the pile's height causes it to catch and reflect light differently depending on the direction it's brushed, which can shift how a shade reads from one angle to the next. We've done our best to photograph this rug in a way that reflects its true tone, and we'd recommend watching the video below for a more accurate sense of its colors before you order. If you're still unsure, feel free to give us a call and we're happy to walk you through it.

Story Behind the Art: French needlepoint rugs originated in 17th–18th century France, famously crafted in Aubusson and Savonnerie workshops for royal and aristocratic interiors. Featuring floral medallions and elegant scrollwork, they were hand-stitched onto canvas using fine petit and gros point techniques. These rugs were heavily influenced by classical European art, featuring floral medallions, scrollwork, garlands, and pastel palettes. They were often used in palaces, châteaux, and salons, woven with meticulous craftsmanship using the petit point and gros point techniques. By the late 20th century, China became a major producer of French-style needlepoint rugs. Using centuries-old weaving and embroidery skills, Chinese artisans began replicating Aubusson and Savonnerie designs on a global scale. These rugs are hand-stitched or handwoven, often using wool on cotton canvas, and maintain the look of antique French originals at more accessible price points.
