This is an antique 13’10X16’ Sarouk rug in excellent condition. With an early to mid-20th century provenance, the rug is made from high quality wool and organic vegetable dyes to stand the rigors of age and time. The colors in the rugs have oxidized to present the ‘abrash’ quality, the hue variations within the same colors, the Persian rugs are renowned for. A classic rich palette of burgundy, navy, tan, and gold is versatile to suit different décor needs. The interplay of light, angle of view, pile and color on the rug present light and dark side to the rug. A rug of extraordinaire craftsmanship and timeless elegance, the rug is not marked by any stains, pile damage or repairs but has even age related wear. It is indeed a rare find!
