Our transitional Peshawar-style area rug combines traditional weaving methods with refined neutral styling, hand-knotted from high-grade natural wool over a sturdy cotton warp foundation. Set against a warm cream-beige background, the expansive field exhibits a seamless overall trellis of interlocking leafy vines, botanical arabesques, and soft brown palmette motifs. Designed without a heavy frame border, the open-field layout creates a spacious aesthetic that complements light and airy interior spaces. Finished with a plush wool pile and trimmed fringe, this piece delivers natural stain resistance, robust floor protection, and reliable structural durability.

Story Behind the Art: Hand-knotted rugs are Pakistan's second-largest cottage and small industry that began as early as the 11th century under the Mughal rule. The craftsmen have the capacity to produce any type of rug using all the popular motifs of guls, medallions, paisleys (botehs), traceries, and geometric designs in various combinations. While the "stone washes" are used to fade and soften colors, the Peshawar style is characterized by a thinly sheered pile, large print designs, and most predominantly, their antique ivory and sometimes golden tones.
