Made by hand from wool, this Oushak rug has a lavender taupe field with a soft, dusty tone. Gold, aqua and peach lines trace faded motifs across the center, and a cream border frames the design. Tiny flowers look delicate against the muted ground. The dense pile is pet and kid friendly and springs back after foot traffic, and short white fringe finishes each end with neat edges. Regular vacuuming without a beater bar keeps the pile looking fresh. Lavender taupe pairs easily with cream, gray and warm metallics. A traditional area rug with a soft vintage palette, it suits anyone who likes muted color.

Story Behind the Art: Oushak Rugs, originating in the west-central Anatolian town of Oushak in Turkey, are renowned for their exceptional texture, expansive design and elegant style. These rugs are made using a family of designs that originate in Ushak, Turkey. They’re recognizable for their large-scale designs and are typically based on geometric motifs with central medallion drawings, smaller all-over medallions or scattered sprays of vine scroll and palmettes. Made from lustrous wool, they favor muted earth tones and are extremely versatile.
