Our transitional Peshawar-style area rug employs expert hand-knotting techniques, utilizing natural wool yarns constructed over a solid cotton warp foundation. Showcasing a dense, warm brown central field, the intricate layout displays repeating rows of classic palmettes, leafy cartouches, and interconnected vine lattices. The composition features soft beige, tan, and delicate aqua blue accents woven across the inner field and into the broad cream-beige main border. Handcrafted with a plush wool pile and trimmed with fine fringe, this piece offers natural stain resistance, robust floor protection, and long-lasting structural strength.

Story Behind the Art: Hand-knotted rugs are Pakistan's second-largest cottage and small industry that began as early as the 11th century under the Mughal rule. The craftsmen have the capacity to produce any type of rug using all the popular motifs of guls, medallions, paisleys (botehs), traceries, and geometric designs in various combinations. While the "stone washes" are used to fade and soften colors, the Peshawar style is characterized by a thinly sheered pile, large print designs, and most predominantly, their antique ivory and sometimes golden tones.
