Our hand-knotted wool Soumak rug has a heathered, streaky field where olive and brown run together. From a distance it looks almost solid, but soft bands of gold and green shift as you move around it. The color changes gradually from lighter to darker areas without any hard lines, and the flatweave surface has a fine, ribbed texture. Because the Soumak weave lies flat and the wool is dense, it is pet and kid friendly and vacuums easily. Cream fringe finishes each end. Olive and brown pair well with cream, rust and warm neutrals. A modern area rug in an earthy palette, it makes a simple, grounding base for color.
