Dense floral patterning characterizes this vintage hand knotted Mahal Sarouk rug, where hundreds of tiny blossoms in coral and blush repeat across a deep navy field in mesmerizing all-over design. Each delicate rosette connects to form a cohesive tapestry, reflecting the refined aesthetic developed by weavers in central Iran's Mahal and Sarouk regions. The vibrant coral red border features graceful scrolling vines and palmettes accented with turquoise, aqua, and gold, providing traditional framing that grounds the densely patterned field with classical Persian elegance. Despite its vintage origins, this piece remains in excellent condition with no low pile or staining, having been professionally cleaned and restored to ensure it's ready for immediate use. Hand knotted on a cotton foundation with exceptional precision, the rug exhibits natural color variation that adds depth and confirms its authentic handmade character.

Mahal Sarouk rugs come from the Arak region of central Iran (historically known as Sultanabad). They were produced in large numbers from the late 19th century onward, largely to meet growing demand from the American and European markets. They are known for bold, flowing floral designs featuring large roses, palmettes, and curving vines, rendered in warm and rich tones. Many older pieces were re-dyed to suit American tastes during the early 20th century import trade, which can result in slightly uneven coloring.
