Story Behind the Art The Yalameh rugs are among the finest quality tribal rugs produced today. They are made by the namesake nomad tribe of Turko-Persian descent, Yalameh living in south-central Iran. Typically, these rugs feature a highly characteristic design- multiple hooked diamond medallions with spandrels and geometric borders. They are generally woven with wool on a cotton foundation. Yet, wool foundations are also not uncommon. They are finely woven with Turkish Knots and have short shiny pile. They are similar in design to Shiraz, Qashqai, and Khamseh rugs, although they usually have brighter.
Cosmopolitan and sophisticated in look, the rug has been hand crafted by artisans to a flawless composition. The main field comprising highly stylized pole medallion with accompanying corner spandrels is encompassed by a handsome multi-band geometric border. The design of the border compliments the inner field and adds gentle grandeur to the artful composition of the rug. This rug representing an illustrious legacy of exquisite artistry and intricate craftsmanship is primed to add visual glamor and class to its surroundings. Its soft texture and timeless design make it ideal to enhance any space where it is placed.
