We bought the pad to go with the quite thin (1/4 inch pile) rug we bought. It is fine, nice and soft underfoot -- no odor, and the rug doesn't slip around on top of the pad.

The rug is lovely and soft underfoot -- it's a pleasure to wake up in the morning and step onto this silky soft rug in our bedroom. We did buy a pad to go underneath it, which I think you need, because it is quite thin. It sits nicely on the pad -- no problems with the rug sliding around on top of the pad. The pattern is printed, not woven (as the website made clear). I was worried that the printed pattern would look cheap in person -- I've had the experience of buying rugs that looked better in photos than in the flesh -- but it really looks very nice. The colors turned out to be perfect in the room. There is absolutely no odor from either the rug or the pad. I can't speak to how it will wear over time, since we've only had it a few weeks, but we are very happy with it so far. I feel that the website was honest both in the written description and in the photos and videos -- I understood what I was buying, and the rug has more than fulfilled our expectations.

This rug is nicer than I imagined. The colors are gorgeous and just what I was looking for, after an extensive search. It is heavy, but surprisingly soft and beautifully made.
